Fresh Berries Inspiration
The combination of vibrant 8/2 cotton blues, purples and reds reminds Sarah Jackson of syrup made from fresh berries: raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, etc.

Weave these towels and your mouth just might start to water and you might find yourself longing for a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream to top off your waffles! A refreshing choice for this Summer Weave-Along!

We Make Weaving Easy!
This exclusively designed yarn pack has just the right amount (plus some) of the gorgeous colors of our best selling 100% unmercerized 8/2 Cotton-- 8/2 Aurora Earth --you will need to weave these 6 waffle weave towels. Ordering this kit will save you time, money and the hassle of searching for all the colors needed. Just add it to your shopping cart!

Super-Absorbant Cotton Towels
The unique structure of waffle weave creates a very absorbent fabric, perfect for kitchen towels. There are different versions of waffle weave; this version is woven on a point-twill threading. The tie-up and treadling create both warp and weft floats around the outside edges of small squares with a plain weave center. When the fabric is washed it transforms into a springy, textured fabric that looks much like a waffle and soaks up water like a sponge.

The Perfect Yarn
With the magic touch of designer Sarah Jackson's hand, 8/2 Aurora Earth unmercerized cotton yarn radiates with vibrant jewel-tones that make six generous-sized (17.5" x 28") kitchen towels look good enough to eat!

A Study in Fibonacci
TheFibonacci numbersare asequenceof numbers inmathematicsnamed afterLeonardo of Pisa, known as Fibonacci. The Fibonacci sequence starts like this: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 so on forever. Each number is the sum of the two numbers that precede it. It's a simple pattern, but it appears to be a kind of built-in numbering system to the cosmos.
For example 0+1=1; 1 + 1 =2; 2 + 3 =5, etc. This sequence goes on forever. In weaving, the numbers can represent individual threads, blocks, or units of measure. Sarah uses this sequence in the warp color order to create a balanced transition from one color into another.
