Braspberry Scarves

Braspberry Scarves

Weave two scarves on one warp!

Blueberries and raspberries are the inspiration to weave these vibrant scarves in shades of blue-purples and red-violets.

The first scarf uses a turned taqueté treadling with one color at a time, creating a strong graphic quality.

The second scarf alternates two weft colors at a time for a more understated pattern and a subtle wash of color from one end of the scarf to the other.

For the second scarf, you can add beads to the weft for the first pick of each color change to introduce a bit of distinction at each color shift. (optional: beads not included in kit)

Yarns: 8/2 Tencel, environmentally friendly and soft as silk.

Sett: 27 epi (2-2-2-3/dent in a 12-dent reed)

Fabric Description: Treadling variations on a straight draw.

Finished Size: (after wet-finishing) Scarf 1, 6 7/8" x 68", hemmed; Scarf 2, 7 1/4" x 70" plus 5 1/2" fringe on each end.

Equipment: 4-shaft loom, 9" weaving width; 12-dent reed; 2 shuttles; 4 bobbins.
