How to Darken Color-Grown Cotton

How to create darker shades of Color-Grown Cottons.
The color that grows within the cotton can be set by boiling in water whose pH is greater than 8.
Or you can simply wash the item made from the cotton in warm water with a normal cotton detergent. (Dawn)
The color will develop into it's full depth over a number of washings. If you want the color to remain stable, then use a pH neutral washing solution, like Arm & Hammer Sensitive Skin laundry liquid.
The samples on chart (left to right) are unwashed, two washings, six washings, ten washings. The more washings the deeper the color.
