Choosing a Crochet Cotton
There are many types of crochet thread and yarn on the market. To help you choose the right one, here is a description of the more common crochet cottons.
10/2 Perle Cotton - Mercerized cotton on cones, also known as fine weight or lace weight. (4200 yards/lb.)
5/2 Perle Cotton - Mercerized cotton on cones, also known as fingering weight. (2100 yards/lb.)
3/2 Perle Cotton - Mercerized cotton on cones, also known as sport weight (1260 yards/lb.)
Sport Weight - (95 to 125 yards per 50 gram skein.)
Worsted Weight - (70 to 90 yards per 50 gram skein.)
Bulky Weight - (50 to 60 yards per 50 gram skein.)
