Summer & Winter Towels on 3-shafts

This project began as an assignment from the Wednesday Weavers’ study group: to weave something on an odd number of shafts.

This is the perfect project to weave a complicated looking pattern using just 3 shafts.

This structure is not exactly summer & winter but does form a nicely textured, subtly patterned fabric. We love the colors and texture of these towels!

Finished size: This kit produces either three or six hemmed towels 11 1⁄2" by 17" each

Yarns: Pearly Perle 10/2 and Pearly Perle 20/2 100% mercerized cotton.

Equipment needed: 4-shaft loom; 12 dent reed; 13 1/2" weaving width

Instructions needed: Best of Handwoven: Top Ten Dish Towels on Four Shaft eBook or Handwoven March/April 2002 from Long Thread Media for complete instructions.
