You'll love weaving these four multi-colored towels (15.75" x 18.5") using our popular 10/2 Pearly Perle yarns on any 4-shaft, 19" wide table or floor loom using a 15 dent reed. We include 20/2 for tidy hems.
We include just the right amount (and then some) of the 12 colors needed to weave these dazzling, colorful, musical towels. As with all our other kits, they are wound on cardboard tubes. This saves you time and expense of having to purchase large cones for each color.
What makes these colorful towels so unique is that the color sequences are based on musical scores. Each note is assigned a color. The number of successive threads in a color is derived from whether the note is a whole, half, quarter, eighth, or sixteenth note ( one thread is assigned to the sixteenth notes). Very cool!
The color orders for this towel are derived from the first movement of Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony. For more about translating music into color sequences, see “Musical Color Wheels for Silk Scarves,” Handwoven, September/October 2000, pages 48–51).
