Shifting Shadows Scarf

This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave this Shifting Shadows Scarf that was designed by Barbara Mitchell and featured on the cover of Handwoven May/June 2023.

The luster of bamboo in the four twill motifs and the three color pairings creates a shifting of light and dark shadows that dance up and down and across the scarf, giving it the appearance of a framed gallery of twills.

Weave Structure: plain weave and twill with color and weave.

Yarns: Bambu 12

Equipment needed: 6-shaft loom; 11” weaving width; 12 dent reed; 4 shuttles.

Finished Dimensions:  one scarf 9½ x 69" plus 5" fringe.

Instructions needed: Handwoven May/June 2023  pages 54-56.
