Easy-to-Spin Green Cotton Sliver is gorgeous!
It's one of the richest shades of naturally-grown green cotton that we've ever seen!
This longer stapled colored cotton has been specially grown with far less chemicals than traditional used on cotton, making it what we're calling "cleaner cotton". Grown in California through the Sustainable Cotton Project whose mission is to lessen the toll that the soil-to-shirt cotton production process takes on the earth's air, water, and soil, and the health of people in cotton growing areas.
We then had it specially processed into sliver that preserves the natural crimp of the cotton fibers, making it a much easier cotton to spin.
This Easy-to-Spin Green Sliver cotton is a joy to spin! Mix it with our other naturally colored cottons either by carding them together or plying a variety of colors together for very interesting effects.
You can darken the natural green color by soaking for 30 minutes in an ammonia bath (3/4 oz ammonia to 2 quarts hot water and small amount of detergent)and then rinsing. The color will darken to a forest green when dry.
