These yarns, also called Baby Weight, knit at a gauge of 7 to 8 stitches to the inch on needles from #0 to #3. They can be any fiber, any number of plies. Fifty gram (1.75 oz.) balls are most common, with yardage from approximately 180 to 240 yards. Use them to knit socks, baby items, shawls and very light-weight sweaters.
